Content Moderation Policy

How adultway moderates content across its platform to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Last updated: 13 April 2026

This Content Moderation Policy is issued by Trusted Media Limited (company number 08153782), whose registered office is at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, United Kingdom, WC1N 3AX (“adultway”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

adultway provides a platform on which users interact with AI-generated characters through text, images, video, and other media, delivered via our website at adultway.com (the “Website”), as well as through WhatsApp, voice, email, and any additional channels we may introduce (collectively, the “Services”). We are dedicated to maintaining an environment that is safe, lawful, and respectful for every user. This Content Moderation Policy explains the standards we apply, the tools and processes we use to uphold them, and the steps we take when those standards are breached.

Every interaction on the platform involves AI-generated characters and media. Although we encourage creative expression across a broad range of topics, we do not permit the Services to be used to produce, distribute, or facilitate content that is harmful, unlawful, or exploitative.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy governs the moderation of all content created, submitted, or generated through the Services, including but not limited to:

  • prompts, messages, and instructions submitted by users;
  • AI-generated text, images, video, audio, and any other outputs;
  • character names, descriptions, and associated metadata;
  • usernames, display names, profile information, and avatars; and
  • any other conduct or activity carried out through the platform.

This policy operates alongside, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Blocked Content Policy, and Pre-Screening and Post-Screening Policy.

2. Content Standards

Users must not use the Services to create, request, promote, or disseminate any of the following:

  • material that depicts, encourages, or facilitates real-world violence or sexual violence;
  • content relating to human trafficking, forced labour, or any form of exploitation;
  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including fictional or implied depictions of minors in sexual situations;
  • non-consensual intimate imagery or the impersonation of real individuals without their express permission;
  • hate speech, content promoting violent extremism, or material targeting individuals or groups based on protected characteristics;
  • content that glorifies, instructs, or encourages self-harm or suicide;
  • fraudulent schemes, scams, or activity that is otherwise unlawful; and
  • fully automated decision-making processes that affect the legal rights or freedoms of individuals.

A comprehensive list of restricted material is set out in our Blocked Content Policy and Community Guidelines. Content that breaches these standards may be removed immediately without prior notice, and the responsible account may be suspended or permanently terminated.

3. How We Moderate Content

We employ a layered approach to content moderation, combining technology and human oversight to identify and address violations as swiftly as possible.

Automated Detection

Real-time filters and machine-learning classifiers scan prompts, outputs, and metadata as they are created. These systems are designed to intercept prohibited content before it is delivered, and to flag borderline material for further review. We also apply rate limits and pattern-matching rules to restrict prompt sequences that are commonly associated with policy violations.

Human Review

Trained members of our trust and safety team review content that has been flagged by automated systems, reported by users, or identified through routine audits. Human reviewers assess context, intent, and severity before determining the appropriate course of action.

Proactive Audits

We conduct regular audits of trending prompts, popular character configurations, and emerging usage patterns. These audits enable us to identify new risks early and to update our automated systems accordingly.

Further detail on how content is assessed before and after publication is available in our Pre-Screening and Post-Screening Policy.

4. Reporting a Concern

If you encounter content on the platform that you believe violates this policy, we encourage you to report it to us without delay by emailing hello@adultway.com. When submitting a report, please include as much detail as possible, such as a description of the content, the approximate date and time you encountered it, and any relevant screenshots or identifiers.

All reports are acknowledged promptly and reviewed within seven (7) business days. In some cases we may contact you to request additional information or clarification before reaching a decision. The outcome of your report will be communicated to you where appropriate.

Full details of our complaints procedure, including how to escalate a matter if you are dissatisfied with the outcome, can be found in our Complaint Policy.

5. Enforcement and Account Actions

When a violation is confirmed, we will take action proportionate to the nature, severity, and frequency of the breach. The measures available to us include, but are not limited to:

  • removal or restriction of the offending content, characters, or outputs;
  • issuing a formal warning and requiring the user to amend their behaviour;
  • temporary suspension of account access for a defined period;
  • permanent termination of the account and all associated data; and
  • referral to the relevant law enforcement authorities where we believe criminal conduct has occurred or where we are legally obliged to do so.

We apply these measures on a case-by-case basis, taking into account mitigating factors such as whether the violation was a first offence and whether the user cooperated with our investigation.

6. Appeals

If you believe that a moderation decision taken against your account or content was made in error, you may submit an appeal by emailing hello@adultway.com. Please include the details of the original decision and any supporting information you wish us to consider.

Appeals are reviewed by a senior member of our trust and safety team who was not involved in the original decision. We aim to resolve appeals within fourteen (14) business days and will notify you of the outcome.

7. Your Responsibilities

You are accountable for the prompts you submit and for any content that is generated as a result of your interactions with the Services. You must not attempt to circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any moderation system, filter, or technical safeguard. Re-uploading, re-submitting, or redistributing content that has been removed constitutes a further violation and may result in the immediate termination of your account. Additional detail on acceptable use is set out in our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

8. Cooperation with Authorities

We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and other competent authorities in the investigation and prosecution of unlawful activity conducted through the Services. Where required by law or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the safety of individuals or the public, we may preserve and disclose account information and content without prior notice to the affected user. Further information on how we handle personal data in these circumstances is available in our Privacy Notice.

9. Ongoing Development

Content moderation is not a static process. We are committed to the continuous improvement of our systems and practices through:

  • regular reviews and updates to our automated detection tools and human review workflows;
  • engagement with independent safety experts, legal advisers, and industry bodies;
  • analysis of emerging trends, threat intelligence, and evolving regulatory requirements; and
  • transparent communication with our user community regarding significant policy changes or enforcement actions.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Content Moderation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal obligations, or the Services themselves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the Website. Your continued use of the Services following the publication of any revised version constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
